The radiometer LPUVI02 measures the global effective irradiance on a flat surface (Watt /m² effective), according to the requirements of the WMO for the measurement of UV-index.
The global irradiance is the sum of direct sun and of diffuse irradiance. In the ultraviolet spectral region, unlike what occurs in the portion of the visible light where the direct component is prevalent on the diffuse component, the light is strongly scattered in the atmosphere, and then the two components are equal; it is therefore of primary importance that the radiometer is able to accurately measure both components.
The radiometer LPUVI02 is produced with voltage output:
The versions 02.1 have a full scale that reach 20 UV-index and are suitable for the measurement of UV in equatorial areas and high mountain: in these places in fact index value UV of 11 can be exceeded for a significant time.
The power supplied is required at 8-30 Vdc, except for the version LPUVI02AV10 (voltage output 0-10 V) which is of 15-30 Vdc.
The instrument is managed to operate for long periods without maintenance (except cleaning of the dome and checking the status of silica gel) provided that it is properly powered.
This feature makes the device ideal for use in remote weather stations also.

Radiometric probe for outdoor use for measuring IRRADIANCE in the UVA spectral range (315…400 nm). Supplied with Calibration Report. On request CPM12AA4… cables with 4-pole M12 connector.
The LPUVA02 radiometer measures the broadband UVA irradiance on a plane surface (Watt/ m²). Measured irradiance is the result of the sum of direct solar
irradiance and of diffuse irradiance. TIt can measure as well the UVA irradiance in closed room.
The radiometer is produced in three versions:

The transmitters allow converting the photometric quantity “equivalent veiling luminance” – HD2021T7 – or a photometric quantity Luminance (cd/m2) – HD2021T6 – into a current (4…20 mA) or a voltage (0…10 V) signal according to the version chosen. If the acquisition station is far from the probe (>50m), it is necessary to use the current output version. The probe is used for the control of street lighting, in particular, the measurement of equivalent veiling luminance is essential to determine the threshold luminance at the entrance of the tunnels (UNI 11095:2011).
HD2021T7 is used for the control of street lighting, in particular, the measurement of equivalent veiling luminance is essential to determine the threshold luminance at the entrance of the tunnels (UNI 11095:2011). The transmitter full scale can be chosen (when ordering) between two different values: 2000 cd/m2 or 20000 cd/m2
HD2021T6 is used for road lighting control. In particular, the measurement of luminance at a 20° angle (L20) is necessary to estimate threshold luminance at tunnel entrances (CIE standard 88:2004. This standard foresees the measurement of debilitating luminance in future). Moreover, the probe can be used for calculating vertical illuminance (Ev) as prescribed in the above-mentioned standard. At the order time, it is possible to choose the transmitter sensitivity among three previously set values: 2 kcd/m², 20 kcd/m² or 200 kcd/m². Finally, the probe can be used for any application where the measurement of luminance is required, for example projector screens, diaphanoscopes etc.
