The Eliasson cloud ceilometer CBME80Bis a compact and lightweight standaloneinstrument for measuring cloud baseheight and vertical visibility.The design is based on the LIDAR principle. The lightemitting component is a low power diode laser with theoutput power limited to an eye-safe level.It is designed for both fixed and mobile installations anddetects up to three cloud layers simultaneously.The CBME80B ceilometer is ideal for use in aviation andmeteorological applications and is suitable for installationson land, ships and for offshore use.CBME80B is the third generation of ceilometer fromEliasson and is based on the proven and widely usedmodel CBME80.ReliabilityEliasson has designed and manufactured ceilometers thelast 20 years and delivered more than 2300 ceilometersworldwide. The ceilometers are very reliable with provenMTBF of over 10 years.The ceilometer come with a standard 1 year warranty,with the option of extending the warranty up to 5 years intotal.Service and maintenanceThe CBME80B is easy to install and requires minimalservice. A built-in self-diagnostics test system indicates anyfailures in the event of a malfunction in a status messagesent as part of the data message.The electronics are located in two easily replaceablesubunits, i.e. a power supply module and a master unit.
