Wind is the flow of air and other gasses in the atmosphere.When a difference in pressure exists between two adjacentair masses, the air tends to flow from the region of highpressure to the region of low pressure. The speed anddirection of the wind are important parameters in the dailymeteorological observations used in weather forecasts andin the control of industrial processes. Industries such asrenewable energy, transportation and environment requireaccurate and reliable measurement of wind speed and winddirection.
A set of wind sensors comprises an anemometer to measurethe speed and a wind vane to measure the direction. MierijMeteo has over 25 years of experience in the development andmanufacturing of anemometers and wind vanes according tothe requirements of the World Meteorological Organization(WMO). All our wind sensors have passed comprehensivetesting and calibration in our wind tunnel and wind vanecalibrator.

system / device / product.• The device / product is designed for a specific application as described in these operating instructions.• The device / product should be operated with the accessories and consumables supplied and/or recommendedby Adolf Thies GmbH & Co KG.• Recommendation: As it is possible that each measuring system / device / product may, under certain conditions,and in rare cases, may also output erroneous measuring values, it is recommended using redundant systemswith plausibility checks for security-relevant applications.
